Yasar Ozer Yilmaz, M.Sc.
PhD Candidate
Ozer received his B.Eng. degree from Marmara University (2014). Following his B.Eng. he pursued his M.Sc. in Biotechnology and Bioengineering at the University of Kent at Canterbury, which he obtained in 2016. Currently, he continues his academic career at Istanbul Technical University by performing a Ph.D. in Nanoscience and Nanoenginering. Ozer's research aims to characterize 3D Printing and microfluidic technologies and specifically how these areas can be applied to aspects within the biotechnology contexts. He is interested in 3D printing, biosensors and lab-on-a-chip devices. In his spare time, he enjoys printing unnecessary inventions :), cycling and discovering new places with his drone.
Mohammed Sami Sultan, MSc
PhD Student
Sami finished his BSc in production engineering and metallurgy from The University of Technology in Baghdad in the year 2010, after that he took some time away from the academic field to obtain some practical experience and then got back to school and received his MSc in Mineral Processing Engineering from Istanbul Technical University the year 2021 in developing a new mineral separation machine using centrifugal forces, now for his PhD studies Sami’s interests varies from nano-extraction, nano-coating and applications of 3D concrete printers and possible improvements for their cement mix. Away from labs and the academic field Sami is a vocalist in a professional choir, video editor and freelance as a graphic designer.
Mervenur Kirazoğlu
MSc Student
Merve graduated from the Bioengineering Department at Yıldız Technical University in 2021. In October 2021, she started to study MSc. degree in Nanoscience and Nanoengineering at Istanbul Technical University. As an undergraduate thesis, she studied synthesis and characterization of curcumin and vitamin D loaded hyaluronic acid coated chitosan nanoparticles in Covid-19 and Lung Cancer. She is interested in polymeric biomaterials, nanoparticles, biosensors and biodetection.

Zeynep received her BSc degree in 2020 from Yildiz Technical University- Department of Bioengineering. In 2021, she started pursuing her Master's degree in Nanoscience and Nanoengineering Programme at Istanbul Technical University. She is interested in controlled drug release and drug delivery systems in addition to biosensors.
Reyhan Çetin
MSc Student
Reyhan graduated from Medical Engineering at Acıbadem University in 2020. She has continued with Master’s Degree in Nanoscience and Nanoengineering at Istanbul Technical University since 2021. She also studied on Hydrogel-QCM biosensor project and automatized sample collector for Colon Chromatography projects during her Bachelor’s Degree. Her interest areas as researches and career are nanomedicine, stimuli drug delivery systems, biomaterials and tissue engineering.
Eray Tabak
MSc Student
Eray graduated from Yıldız Technical University, Department of Bioengineering. He has continued Master's degree in Nanoscience and Nanoengineering at Istanbul Technical University. During his Bachelor's Degree, he conducted a study on biodegradable nanoparticle synthesis and optimization. He also continued to work on vaccines and controlled drug release. In recently, he continues to work on photocatalytic materials and surfaces. His areas of interest are nanomaterials, nanoparticles, biomaterials, catalysts and controlled drug releases.
Nidanur Sevinç
Undergraduate Student
Nida is a senior at Istanbul Technical University, where she is pursuing a degree in Mineral Processing Engineering. She is currently studying and practicing research techniques under the supervision of professional scientists in order to develop his own research topic in the near future. Her research focuses on the extraction of unburned carbon (UC) from bottom ash. Her study examines the factors that affect the UC content of ash and focuses on UC determination, separation and various techniques for UC research. Her extracurricular activities are tennis, camping, sparring, and spending time with loved ones. Tennis has been a huge part of her life and will forever be.
